Heritage Roofing Group had the honour to assist in the restoration of this beautiful old heritage church by stripping back the existing slate, replacing the existing roof with Reclaimed Welsh Penrhyn slate, new sarkin & insulation, installing skylights, capped off with new terracotta ridges to add to the heritage value & vision the client set out to achieve. 

OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

The old existing roof was stripped back, re-insulated, re-battened with new sarkin & custom made sky lights to be fitted on either side of the roof. A very important stage of a re-roof to ensure a watertight finished product that will last you 50 years & beyond. 

RECLAIMED SLATE

A labour intensive process as each slate needs to be cleaned, qualified, re-holled to be fit to slate. But all worth while to achieve the finished product.

It is one of the most versatile natural products used in architectural design, Its sophistication, resistance and durability give the surface involved a certain prestige, guaranteeing a far longer service life.

Using reclaimed slate adds a certain underrated prestige on buildings that have a strong heritage vibe that lies within. For something like this Church / Home Restoration the client wanted exactly that. A material that sits in perfect juxtaposition amongst other heritage features the church does so well to make stand out.
